As you might not be that known to most people a short introduction might be in order.
-Well, Djævles Skrig was started by Sarah Lee Lamashtu (WORHT,Augu Sigyn, The Crone) and Atziluth (Ravishing, Blackhorned, Grimnismál) as an idea of creating a pure simple underground
black / death metal project, and one thing took the other.
We quickly wrote and recorded our 2 first songs and released them as a demo in May 2015.

How does your latest recording compare to the previous ones?
-As this is our first album we don’t have others to compare to, but we can for sure say that it holds all the good oldschool black and death metal elements, but with this unique
idea og having a female and male growling vocalist fronting The band.

Was it hard for you to come up with a sound you all could agree on?
-It actually wasn’t. We are both into pure / necro metal. And into the black and death genres of metal. So one idea, became a whole album.

How important are the lyrics to you? What kind of topics do you deal with
-Lyrics are a big part of the whole album. We seek that both the music – the vocals & the lyrics, will get it’s ear to hear. What our lyrics are about, is a mixture of mass murderers, hauntings, demons, and hell.

How important is the cover art work for you? How much do you decide in choosing art work?
-We both like the black and white as main focus. And then we talk about ideas, and Sarah Lee Lamashtu, began drawing a sketch. And the finished layout, Atziluth worked out in Photoshop. We had no problems in the making, more a “ahh cool idea, let’s do it”.

Where outside of your country have you had success with your previous albums?
-Again this is our first album, which is still to be released, so we still have that in front of us and we are looking forward to it.

Is it harder today to get noticed both nationally and internationally than it was 10 or 20 years ago? Is the competition tougher today?
-Well, there are some through the years that has made marks in the metal map, but you are right that there seems to be a lack og danish bands breaking though international.
A few danish bands though are doping pretty good international but we still need more..

What is your local scene like? What status does your band have in the national scene?
-We haven’t played live yet with Djævles Skrig, but we are searching for live-soldiers for 2016, so we are hoping to could go live in 2016.

What is the general population’s opinion on playing music? Is being a musician a respectable choice?
-Some see it very foreign, while others are very open. And then there are those who really feel for the metal bands. We haven’t met anyone who disliked our choice of being a metal
musician. Though many get a headache from thinking of all the music noise, but guess many haven’t had the time to open up, and to really listen. Though these who doesn’t listen to metal,
have still been very good to see you as a musician.

What does the future hold for you?
-We are working on a new idea for a future album already, though we’re also working with other bands: Ravishing ( Atziluth ), Augu Sigyn & WORHT ( Sarah Lee Lamashtu & Atziluth)
